What the quotation decides
Warranty length and what is included are printed on the quote or invoice. If those documents are silent, the cover below applies to seating and Planet Desking furniture we manufactured and, where we installed, that we fixed down.
Structural frames — up to 10 years
Against cracking, weld failure or breakage of the steel (or specified metal) frame caused by a manufacturing defect, when the seat or desk is used as intended indoors. The period starts on the handover date. We may repair or replace the failed part. Cosmetic finish, rust from outdoor or wet rooms, and damage from overloading or impact are not structural defects.
Mechanisms, foam and upholstery
Tip-up actions, tablets, armrests, foam and fabric are wearing parts. Unless the quote gives a longer period, manufacturing defects in these parts are covered for 12 months from handover. Normal compression of foam, fading, staining, tears from use, and fabric pilling are wear, not defects.
Commercial fabrics are specified for traffic, not for zero marks. Cleaning must follow the fibre’s care instructions. Solvents and unapproved chemicals void fabric cover.
What this does not cover
- Install by anyone other than Planet Seating, unless we inspected and accepted that install in writing
- Outdoor use, unless the quote specified an outdoor or covered-court product
- Moving rows after handover, cutting frames, or adding third-party parts
- Flood, fire, vandalism, pests, or a building movement that tears fixings from the slab
- Office chairs and bought-in accessories supplied as-is with a supplier warranty only — we pass that through where we have it
How to claim
Email photos of the seat or desk, the row or office location, and the invoice or quote number to planetseating@telkomsa.net. Do not discard the part until we say so. We may inspect on site in Gauteng or ask you to hold the part for a visiting technician.
A valid claim is put right by repair or replacement of the defective component. We do not refund the whole contract for a single failed pan if the rest of the installation is sound.
Your legal rights
This policy is in addition to rights under the Consumer Protection Act for goods that fail to meet the standard a consumer may reasonably expect. Nothing here forces you to give those rights away.
