What we collect
From the website form we collect your name, email, phone number, department of interest, venue or project name, and the message you type. We also store a time stamp, a CSRF token, and the page you submitted from. Honeypot fields are unused traps for bots and are not used to profile you.
If you phone, WhatsApp or email, we keep the conversation needed to quote and install: seat counts, photos of the room, drawings, suburb and preferred dates.
Server logs may record IP address, browser type and pages requested, used to keep the site working and to limit form abuse (rate limits).
Why we use it
- To reply to a quote or support request
- To prepare layouts, invoices and installation dates
- To meet tax, accounting and warranty records
- To stop spam and automated form attacks
We do not sell mailing lists. We do not use your project photos for advertising without asking you first.
Who sees it
Staff of Planet Seating who handle sales, manufacture or install. Email is sent through our mailbox provider (currently GoDaddy SMTP for website forms) so the message can reach planetseating@telkomsa.net. A copy may go to our technical mailbox so failed sends can be traced.
We may share details with a transport or install crew only as needed to deliver that job. We may disclose information if a court or regulator lawfully requires it.
Cookies and this site
The quote form uses a session cookie so the security token works. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics pixels on these pages. Your browser may still send standard technical data to the web server.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to complete the quote and, if you order, for the life of the warranty plus a reasonable period for tax records (typically at least five years). You can ask us to delete an unused enquiry; we will do so unless we must keep it for a legal claim or completed contract.
Your POPIA rights
You may ask what personal information we hold, request a correction, or object to processing that is not required for a contract or a legal duty. Send the request to planetseating@telkomsa.net from the address you used, or write to 106 Albertina Sisulu Rd, Roodepoort, 1724. We will need to confirm it is you before changing or deleting a record.
You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you are not satisfied with our response.
Children
This site is for venue owners, architects and facilities staff. We do not knowingly collect information from children for marketing.
Changes
If this notice changes in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
