Who you are contracting with
Planet Seating (Pty) Ltd manufactures and installs auditorium, church, cinema and theatre seating and office furniture from 106 Albertina Sisulu Rd, Roodepoort, 1724. Planet Desking is a product range of the same company, not a separate legal entity.
South African law applies, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where you are a consumer. These pages explain how we work. They do not replace a project quotation, drawing pack or any written variation you and we both accept.
Quotations
A quote is an offer to manufacture and, where stated, install to the specification on that document. Unless the quote says otherwise, it is valid for 30 days. Prices exclude VAT unless shown as inclusive.
Seat counts, fabrics, tablets, tip-up mechanisms and desk sizes are as listed. If the room, drawing or fabric changes after acceptance, we will reprice the affected part before manufacture continues.
Acceptance is a signed quote, a written “go-ahead”, or payment of the deposit shown on the quote — whichever comes first.
Payment
Payment terms are those on the quotation. Typical projects use a deposit before manufacture and a balance before or on handover. Ownership of goods stays with Planet Seating until the price is paid in full.
Late payment may pause manufacture or install. We may recover reasonable collection costs. Bank details are only those printed on our invoice.
Drawings and specifications
Layouts, row centres and desk sizes are prepared for your room. Until they are approved, they are a proposal. Once approved, they are the specification we build to. You are responsible for telling us about services in the floor, stage positions, screen widths and any other constraint that would change the layout.
Drawings and photographs we produce remain our intellectual property. You may use them for this project. You may not copy them for another supplier’s manufacture without our written consent.
Manufacture and changes
Lead time starts when the deposit has cleared and the specification is approved. Custom seating and desks are made to order. Once frames are in production, design changes may not be possible, or they may attract extra cost and time.
Site and delays
You must provide safe access, a reasonably complete floor or rake, power where needed, and a place to offload. If the site is not ready on the agreed date, standing time and extra trips may be charged. We are not responsible for delays caused by other contractors, municipal inspections or access that was not disclosed.
Liability
We manufacture and install with reasonable skill and care. Our liability for a proven manufacturing or installation defect is repair, replacement of the affected parts, or a credit — as set out in the warranty policy. We do not accept liability for indirect loss such as postponed events, lost ticket sales or alternative venue hire, except where South African law does not allow that limit.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act for goods that are unsafe or not of good quality.
Website
Photos, capacities and fabric names on this site are a guide. The quotation is the specification. We may update pages without notice. Do not rely on a web caption as a contract term.
